This is a Software Architect role, Reporting to the Manager Research & Development in business area Industrial Automation (IA) located in Bangalore and you will be contributing significantly to successful project results in technology and/or product development by identifying, proposing and implementing innovative solutions. Using unique technical knowledge to oversee development tasks.

Your responsibilities

• Understanding of software stacks\solutions, analyzing requirements, designing, developing, and installing software solutions.
• Developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Improving existing software quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and developing standard operating procedures, making recommendations and designing and implementing changes in existing system.
• Maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer review code changes.
• Collaborating with Product and system architects in defining Product/Module.
• Following the software development lifecycle, having good understanding of various SDLC models like SaFe Agile, SCRUM etc.
• Having good understanding of Software Documentations and demonstrates solutions by modeling documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
• Living ABBs core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background

• MCA/B.Tech/B.E from a reputed University in Computer Science /Electronics/Instrumentation.
• Required 10 to 12 Years of experience in C++, VC++ , C#, WPF, WCF, great communication and collaboration skills.
• Should have detailed knowledge about the Software Development Lifecycle (SDL) and good knowledge of product development processes (V-model and agile methodology).
• Should have knowledge on network packages and communications (TCP/IP Communications\MMS), knowledge on OPC server.
• Should have knowledge on Windows debugging concepts, Understanding of software Debugging, static code analysis, clean code, etc.
• Should have knowledge on standards like IEC61850, power Automation, substation automation systems is desirable.
