AutoRABIT seeks a technical writer to take on the role of documenting engineering use cases for use by our support team. We are looking for someone to create documentation and education materials to boost the effectiveness of our enterprise support team guiding customers experiences on our SaaS platform. The Technical Writer will author use cases, user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation/configuration instructions and system operations procedures, supporting AutoRABIT customers worldwide.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and disciplined self-starter. You are an author and teacher with a passion for learning technology and crafting documents which help simplify explanations. You have native fluency in English and you are comfortable and productive working independently with minimal supervision while aligning with the team's styles and standards. The ideal candidate is confident, friendly, willing to ask for help when needed, and offer assistance whenever possible.

Roles & Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Technical Writer are to:

  • Author and Integrate use case and functional data into user documentation and examples
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering teams to produce and maintain world-class documentation, including User Guides, Integration Guides, API Developer Guides, How-to-Guides, In platform documentation (tooltips, welcome instructions, in-product guides, etc.) or other technical documentation or materials as required
  • Assist with proofreading as necessary to ensure proper grammar and spelling
  • Build and maintain client aids that go beyond traditional documentation, such as online video, demos, guided tours, and other educational techniques
  • Participate in Agile Scrum and sprint meetings
  • Learn complex concepts, and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and understood by users
  • Act as an editor to ensure consistency in training documentation across AutoRABIT's Academy
  • Collaborate with SMEs to schedule reviews and make updates accordingly
  • Write for a variety of audiences, from non-technical end-users to programmers, system administrators, and integrators
  • Create and maintain internal documentation related to writing standards and processes
  • Proactively seek out ways to improve the company's product by providing feedback to product managers on enhancements to our products, by soliciting customer and internal feedback

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in making technical content accessible to business and technical audiences with mixed levels of expertise (Software product experience is preferred)
  • Native fluency in both spoken and written English; must have excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills
  • Passion for thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing, agile working environment
  • Ability to understand, explain, and write complex technical information in a conversational tone of voice
  • Understanding of source control systems and maintaining multiple versions of the content
  • Ability to work with geographically distributed team members and developers
  • Positive and open attitude, flexibility, collaborative working style, team-player
  • Prior experience with Salesforce or Salesforce AppExchange products or equivalent experience with development or IT operations products
  • Experience with HTML and CSSS is also helpful, and knowledge of the Doc360 platform is a definite plus

Education and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Technical Communication or related discipline, or at least five years of experience in writing technical documentation for enterprise or cloud-based software
