Position PurposeThe Lead Software Developer works closely with product management to provide innovative SaaS solutions to our customers. This role takes on technical ownership of a strategic software product by managing its code base and organizing all development activities necessary to produce a secure, reliable, and robust solution that can be extended and supported cost-effectively. And Yes , writing a significant amount of code for the product is required this is a unique role that requires leadership, technical ability, innovation, and collaboration to meet our customer s needs. Key Accountabilities Support the advancement of Avtex s software development best practices Lead the development and maintenance of a robust code base that can be reasonably: o tested (unit, functional, automated), extended and modified, secured and pen tested, maintained and supported Oversee all design and coding of the software product Mentor fellow developers Coordinate and manage developers activities including design and code reviews Support developers to ensure work effort timelines remain on schedule Coordinate cross-functional team activity with product managers, security, QA, DevOps, and support. Offer innovative technical solutions and designs to complex problems Produce quality software that meets the required SLAs of our SaaS products Provide high-level work estimates for large development initiatives Collaborate with architects on technology platforms, common libraries, API design standards, and frameworksCompetencies Personal: Strong interpersonal skills, energetic and enthusiastic, integrity and honesty, flexible, results oriented, resourceful problem-solving ability, and genuinely likes to collaborate with others to solve challenging problems. Stay current with changing technologies and platforms.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated software development best practices Demonstrated technical leadership skills Solid understanding of iterative project delivery methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM Management of large software repositories using Git or TFS Ability to implement Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) Strong knowledge of cloud and computing infrastructure Experience with software testing platforms and best practices Strong design and debugging skills Strong communication and customer-facing skills Customer-first mindset influencing all decisionsEducation and Experience (minimum qualifications) Bachelor s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. 8+ years developing high-quality software using at least two of Java, C#, or JavaScript 2+ years working with Azure or Amazon cloud architecturesWork Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in an office environment, if available.
