Description

Objectives of the position:

  • As a Lead for SCM function Lead, steer Supply Chain Planning and Supply Chain operation for BASF
  • Maintain optimum inventory management, delivery service level and logistics cost
  • Develop mid-to long-term financial targets. Support LBM in steering business towards mid-term targets and track achievement.
  • Assume End to End accountability by inclusion of newly embedded customer service group
  • Take Ownership and Review processes which supports Business strategy and Annual Targets in the areas of Demand & Supply Planning, Distribution Planning, Safety and EHS, further lead and facilitate Sales and Operations Planning Locally and Regionally.
  • Steer implementation of SCM strategy by liaising with RBU SCM.
  • Drive digitalization and sustainability roadmap with regional SCM
  • Assume responsibility for positive outcome for major projects such as Automation, EDI Integrations, E-commerce Platform for sales etc.
  • Needs to take ownership and proactively drive cost savings projects in various areas like RM Planning, reducing freight & warehousing cost.

Main tasks:

  • Responsible for Demand and Supply planning process of a business having 2 production plants, 2 tolling operations, 1 repacking & 2 main warehouses
  • Assume ownership for the Demand & Supply planning & Review process. Ensure Demand & Supply planning adequately takes into consideration opportunities and risks. Balance between realizing sales potential and managing inventory risks.
  • Value creation for BASF (LEAN, cost saving projects) as part of aligned targets, enhance customer & market proximity to support top-line growth and provide superior service to prioritized customers
  • Drive Order to Delivery Process effectively, provide on-the-job mentoring and coaching to team members in matters related to OTC process efficiency and foster customer focus culture, Provide order management-related expertise and information to business functional counterparts.
  • Drive Customer Intimacy by establishing connection with customers SCM function and transactional activities to make BASF faster, simpler and more cost efficient. Drive NCM process to enhance Customer Satisfaction with continuous improvement measures, promote best practice sharing from the CS Award,
  • Establish Digitization as a critical differentiator e.g. Automation in OTC, RPA, Analytics, Power BI
  • Promote New transaction portal (World account) to customers
  • Prepare the monthly management reporting and documentation incl. deviation analysis, Support global, regional as well as local audits.
  • Drive constant improvement of Demand & Supply planning accuracy.
  • Distribution & Production Planning Ensure Raw Materials & Finished goods are available based on forecasts
  • Inventory Management Driving decision to keep the inventory under control, manage aged stocks monitoring and liquidation, ensure depletion plans for excess inventories are developed and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Teams (Supply Chain Regional) to ensure all the defined KPI are achieved in sub-region and serve as bridge between two teams. Facilitate Monthly review processes.
  • Own and implement Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) for the country and the sub-region.
  • Capacity & Sales Budgeting Process To develop budgets and propose for capacity increases well ahead in time along with sales, marketing and local management teams.
  • Support value-based decision making throughout the organization targeting sustainable optimization of absolute Market Performance.
  • Perform financial evaluations for projects (e.g. business models, go-to-market approach, portfolio management) and provide recommendations.
  • Assess SC risk management on regular basis and establish counter measures to mitigate risk (Both Raw Material & Logistics risk)
  • Drive operational excellence projects. Initiate processes improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in business planning and beyond.
  • Audits: To collaborate with external and internal audit teams and ensure that recommended actions are properly closed (IATF, ISO TS, Certification audits, Internal audits, Statutory audits).
  • Collaborate with country and sub-regional Central Supply Chain Platforms to ensure and enable support for BU to achieve SC operational excellence
  • Evaluate and propose for tolling options wherever capacity is constraint as per business requirement.
  • Establish business planning teams as central business function and support constant development of required skillset of team members

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the PositionL

  • Education: Bachelor s degree, Logistics or Supply Chain Management
  • Working Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in the area of Supply Chain & Logistics along with team handling exposure and supporting Regional teams.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting skills, proficiency in interpretation and analysis of financial reports.
  • Experience in SAP, MS Office applications, Power BI, Analysis office or other ERPs
  • Good command in English.
  • Good communication skills, team player
