Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages one or two medium to large scale new product development programs in Medication Delivery Infusion Systems & Application.
  • Works closely with Lead System Designer (LSD) to build iterative system integration steps with clear goals & deliverables from software, hardware perspective
  • Identifies dependency needed for integration steps ahead of time, & tracks them to closure to ensure successful commencement of integration
  • Plans for prototype quantity, mandatory design changes, and deliverables needed for each integration cycle.
  • Responsible for delivering an integrated infusion pump with detailed plans from primary iteration to successful system verification completion
  • Closely monitors roadblocks, anticipates potential conflict situations for proactive solutions and resolves conflict situations, project bottlenecks as they arise, & negotiating effectively with core team, LSD, sub-system leads to result in win-win outcomes
  • Identifies dependency needed for integration steps ahead of time, & tracks them to closure to ensure successful commencement of integration
  • Actively identifies and manages risks through problem avoidance, contingency plans and proper escalation - Tracks issues identified during integration steps, prioritizes them working closelywith LSD, relevant core team members, & identifies a resolution plan for the issues
  • Primary point of contact in pump R&D for PMO & cross-functional team for integration, execution, project deliverables, budget & resource needs
  • Directs teams in the determination of feasibility of new or modified product designs by considering performance, costs, design for manufacturing, ease of implementation, serviceability, time limitations and other economic factors; expeditiously works with core team to decide on the best approach, and presents the same to Executive Sponsor
  • Works with LSD/core team to understand the identified change control items, & interfaces with execution leads in hardware & software to provide data for the change control decision maintaining balance between project cost, schedule
  • Prepares project reports, analyses and delivers presentations to pump R&D leadership on a weekly basis - Facilitates communication within sub-system leads for execution tasks
  • Leads schedule meetings in pump R&D, develops and manages agenda, creates minutes and follow up action items throughout the integration steps
  • Participates and assist in Product Development Process continuous improvement initiatives - Provides feedback to functional department heads during strategic planning and the performance management process
  • Works closely with functional managers to develops career and succession plans for key individuals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors with12 years of product development, project Management, and integration experience or Master degree with 2 - 5 years product development, integration and project management experience with proven record of success in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with virtual teams & across multiple design centers - Skilled in problem identification and solution
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation and organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, and be persistent when the need arises
  • Demonstrated peer-leadership, diplomatic and negotiating skills - Ability to manage conflict - Flexibility in managing change in a dynamic environment
  • Experience of structured product development processes; Experience with change control mechanisms - Knowledgeable in both the product line and the technical aspect of the products
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite including MS Project
  • Acting with a sense of urgency in everything you do; demonstrating a healthy impatience; constantly seeking ways to accelerate performance
