Intensivists Job in Bbc Heart Care & Pruthi Hospital

To provide effective, efficient and professional clinical anaesthesia/intensive care services during contracted sessions as and when required. You will share in the ICU on-call roster as determined by the needs of the service. Clinical anaesthesia coverage of the facility is shared on a rostered 24-hour basis by Anaesthetists, backed up by the on-call ICU consultant. Services include anaesthesia in the Operating Suite, Day Stay Unit,Radiology, Maternity Unit, Pre-assessment Clinics, Registrar tutorials and other rostered duties. The Anaesthetist/Intensivist will be aware of the role of patient advocates and patients rights and ensure informed consent has been obtained in accordance with hospital policy. The Anaesthetist/Intensivist will apply the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi to their job, and treat patients of all cultures with dignity and respect. The Anaesthetist/Intensivist will function as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote high quality outcomes for patients. The Anaesthetist/Intensivist will consistently demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with other staff and patients and will handle problems sensitively. The Anaesthetist/Intensivist will liaise with medical staff in other departments of Tauranga Hospital and in other hospitals to ensure that patients are investigated in an appropriate and cost effective manner. This commitment will include taking part in departmental meetings with other disciplines as required from time to time.
