Job Summary: Belden is looking for a highly skilled Support Engineer who develops and maintains an edge computing environment by identifying network requirements; installing equipment, producing solution test plans, and developing functions to test Edge solutions and monitoring system and solution performance. The solution development would enable our R&D teams implement the next-generation intelligent cloud and edge analytics platform software across its diverse portfolio of multi-branded multi-vertical solutions. We#re focused on the Industrial Internet of Things and Edge application space. The Support Engineer will be a collaborator for a team of dedicated engineers, as well as working with and across various other engineering teams at Belden that are building edge and advanced networking solutions. This presents an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work on the leading intelligent edge platform in a successful global business to achieve superior velocity, value, and scalability.The successfulcandidate will be hands on and curious with a focus on technology, scalability and portability. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of networking, industrial automation, performance tuning and handling customer issues andqueries for multiple products in a solution. Responsibilities: Develop Edge solutions by conferring with users; analyzing use cases, workflows, network information, and security requirements; designing network and traffic routing Evaluating solution performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing workloads, connections, and firewalls Maintains customer communication and interactionthrough problem resolution, solution development and troubleshooting Build simulation network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation. Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support. Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.##This position has the growth potential to transition into a senior support engineer role Required Skills and Experience 4 years of experience in Level 3 support, testing and solution development Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching Experience with developing virtualized solutions, e.g. Docker and Virtual Machines in an embedded gateway solution Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure Good experience with embedded systems testing, performance monitoring, tuning and optimization Good exposure to programming languages such as Python, Perl, bash scripting Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, vSphere, and vCenter. Familiarity with protocol level tracing with Wireshark. Familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Good team player and willing to learn attitude##Voracious need to document code and catalog data transformations Experience with the following technologies a bonus: Network Security, Firewalls and SIEM Ubuntu Python programming IO/OT Integration technologies such as MQTT and OPC-UA SaaS solutions Messaging systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ) Mobile Device Management from the cloud
