Job Summary

The Assurance Department (Assurance), comprised of Internal Audit, Internal Controls, and IT Assurance, provides independent assurance to the Audit Committee and Management that significant strategic, financial, and operational risks are properly identified and managed to an acceptable level. Assurance performs operational/financial/IT audits, compliance, and other governance activities such as global Enterprise Risk Assessments and Compliance & Ethics services. The desired state is an effective, cost beneficial control environment.

About the Position:

The position, based in Pune and under the direction of the Senior Manager, Assurance, will assist members of the organization by using a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of systems, processes, people, and controls. The Assurance Analyst participates in engagement planning, risk assessment, business process consulting, and testing related to ITGC and Automated Business Process Controls, Operations, and System/Applications audits. This position requires solid understanding of Information Security and Technology (IS&T) risks and controls, good business practices and validated decision-making and analytical skills.


Responsibilities:Audit computer and financial systems to assess business risk and performance

  • Identify and assess critical controls, and identify potential process risks using associated regulatory frameworks
  • Prepare audit finding communications to ensure that acceptable documentation exists to support the completed audit and conclusions
  • Perform information control evaluations to include system development standards, standard operating procedures, system security, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery procedures, and system maintenance
  • Reveiw functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the processes, systems, people and controls required to achieve established objectives.
  • Provide guidance to Control and Process owners from various segments regarding the design and documentation of key business processes and controls


Experience and Education:

A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Accounting, or Engineering is required. The ideal candidate will have following experiences:
IT General Computing Controls (Change Management, Security & Access, Operations)
Data mining (e.g. SQL, Micro Strategy, Tableau)
Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting testing


Certifications:

Certifications are considered a plus with preference given to the following:

Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Chartered Accountant (CA)
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Proficiency in auditing, ability to work alone or in a team environment, effective communication, the ability to influence change, and pursuit of excellence are critical attributes for success at BMC. Knowledge, skills, and abilities that may affect performance include:

  • Strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills

  • Excellent listening, oral, and writing skills in English is required. Fluency in other languages a plus

  • Ability to develop relationships with client and Assurance staff across multiple geographies

  • Collaborate with IT and Business Stakeholders in updating IT controls, risk areas and processes

  • Ability to complete analytical reviews, develop client inquiries and evaluate client responses

  • Proven ability to execute audits and testing of key financial controls in accordance with professional standards

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and change focus as new information becomes available
