Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related area is preferred

We are looking for a software engineer to work in a global company with products and teams across the globe.

Responsibilities

• Adviseproduct development teams on best ways to package a product, counters to track for management and operations of a product or service
• Recommend design patterns for elastically scaling up and down services based on demand
• Guide product teams with common concerns like authentication, authorization,loggingand security Particularly from the perspective of big data concerns such as volumes
• Guide the product teams regarding avoidance of single point failures in the system
• Guide the product teams regarding business continuity planning
• Review system design and service distribution proposals made by the product teams
• Create proposals for the management team advocating best practices adoption and tools acquisition to be able to meet agreed upon SLAs from the business point of view
• Identify where the bottlenecks are and advise product teams on possible ways to reduce the bottleneck
• Establish protocol for handling security incidents, review code for security vulnerabilities

Requirements

• Should have created scripts using VMWare scripting, Ansible, AWS, Azure scripting for various usage scenarios like creating templates, elastic scaling of services
• Should have experience with scripting languages like PowerShell / Bash / Perl / Python
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS and other networking products
• Should have worked with virtual machines, containers and cloud-based platforms
• Should have worked with both Windows and Linux
• Experience with VMWare, Docker Swarm, AWS preferred
• Should have familiarity with databases like Microsoft SQL Server, Mongo DB, ELK stack
• Should have experience in problem solving and troubleshooting systems
• Should be able to work with teams with wide ranging years of experience
• Should have worked in international teams spanning geographies and time zones
• Need to have good communication skills
• Should be familiar with agile development lifecycles, continuous integration and continuous deployment environments
• Should have experience with system management and monitoring systems such Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, SolarWinds,LogicMonitorwould be added advantage.
• Should be familiar with Active Directory, Network Information Systems (NIS) etc.
