Global Business Services (GBS) is ABB€™s shared services organization which delivers operational and expert services in Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Legal, Global Travel Services and external Customer Contact Centers. With employees based in five main hubs and front offices, GBS provides mainly Business services to ABB teams across the globe as well as supports with external customer inquiries. This is a Fusion Regional Data SME - Asia-Pacific role, reporting to the IS Service Owner, HR in the Global Business Services which is in Bangalore, India. This global project role will accomplish activities of data conversion and migration to Workday in the context of Project Fusion. This project will transform HR delivery for ABB globally by moving from today€™s dispersed HCM landscape to an operating model that builds on a single Workday instance with best-of-breed add-ons for superior user experience for employees, line managers, HR professionals and applicants. Complete, fully detailed and correct data migration rules as well as automated and manual procedures are vital for the successful activation of the new system given the global go-live on one date.

Your responsibilities

  • Working with a regional group of system/country systems leads in the effort to gather employee demographic and indicative data from the global source systems for data conversion/migration to Workday.
  • Serving as liaison between the systems data collectors/providers and the data collection Project Manager.
  • Providing the data migration input/feedback from the systems data collectors/provider on the data conversion and migration strategy, governance, and framework.
  • Ensuring collection of the Workday data elements and their valid value ranges/lists.
  • Supporting the systems representatives that are gathering and submitting the data by providing the data gathering tools/templates, answering questions and concerns as well as escalating any blocking issues.
  • Assisting the data migration team in any issues or follow-up that result from the data gathering process. Assisting the functional teams in resolving data inconsistencies and anomalies.
  • Collaborating with the cutover lead for a reliable data conversion/migration plan. Collaborating with data collection PM to prepare migration status results for status meetings during tenant builds and production cutover.
  • Ensure auditable documentation of the data migration in the Fusion project context, including audit compliance with Internal controls over financial reporting, (ICoFR), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other regulations for access to and use of personal data within ABB.

Your background

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience and knowledge in several fields of HR Master Data, HR IS (Human Capital Management Systems, HCM), HR Business Processes and/or HR Reporting in roles at large technological and industrial companies with complex organizations and multi-cultural management.
  • Facilitates technical and non-technical data collection status meetings and documents decisions, meeting minutes and decisions to drive to a timely closure of actions.
  • Proven data analysis, mapping, transformation, and validation skills. Experience having successfully worked in global deployment projects €“ ideally in the HR domain €“ with significant aspects of complex IT implementation, organizational transformation, and ambitious value creation targets.
  • Firm knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting (ICoFR), including Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) data protection standards and experience in implementing processes and methods that comply with highest standards as of data protection including compliance with SOX and GDPR.
  • MS Office, digital collaboration tools/platforms - Advanced spreadsheet experience in Excel.
  • Strong analytical thinking and good communication skills to organize a global community of business data providers towards the common solution within the given timelines. Ability to structure and convey complex messages, urgency, and insights into meaningful action plans.
  • Professional proficiency in English. Collaborative working style appreciating the inclusion of geographies, levels, functions, and cultures. Developing others.
  • Ability to explain complex, technical information in a nontechnical, easy-to-understand way.
  • Self-starter with vision, who is proactive in building relationships with the community of system representatives in way that shows a passion for quality and speed as well as creativity and readiness for innovation to break new ground is required.
