This is a R&D Test Engineer role, reporting to the R&D Technology Manager in business area Process Automation located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.

Your responsibilities

• Testing the cyber security products functionality for ABB DCS systems (Current and previous generation Controllers) both at product level and at system level.
• Systems set up, configuration, maintenance, systems up-gradation verification, control, automation systems networking and configuration.
• Testing, time to time, new third party software changes, used in the product and validation of the systems for the changes.
• Identifying the bugs, raising the bug reports and validation of the bug trackers.
• Develop type test descriptions, prepare test environment documentation & preparing the test records.
• Perform testing and reporting as per ABB test process including quality procedures/ tools / metrics.
• Planning and estimation of efforts required for the test team.

Your background

• B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or Electrical or Electronics from a reputed institution.
• Required 5 to 8 years of experience in testing of DCS/PLC/SCADA with Industrial automation and cyber security background.
• Should be Familiar with System Engineering / Application development and Commissioning skills.
• Should have hands on experience in working with ABB Melody / Harmony systems.
• Should have knowledge of PC hardware, network switches, communication modules and their configuration.
• Should have hands on experience in development of test documentation (test environment description, test cases, etc.).
• Should have experience in planning/estimation of activities.
