Job Summary
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Unemployment Compensation Responsible for investigating, preparing defense and responding to claims in a timely manner.
* Leave of Absences - (Personal; Spousal Transfer; Educational; Military; Union; Political; Medical; Workers Comp) Counsels employees/supervisors for the various types of leave of absence. Responsible for administration and coordination of facility Family Medical Leave Policy. Tracks all Intermittent Family Leaves. Responsible for placing employees on Long-Term Disability (LTD) and also separating employees when LTD leave expires.
* EEO/AA Requires knowledge of affirmative action policies and laws. Responsible for a Divisions Written Affirmative Action Plan (WAAP), EEO quarterly and year-end statistics. Reviews reports to ensure accuracy and communicate results. Educates and counsels supervisors on the Personnel Selection Records forms process.
* Separations/Discharges/Property Clearances Responsible for sending separation letters, etc. Processes all Company Property Clearances for transfers, quits, retirements, and separations.*Implementation of Wage Settlement,Implementation of Hourly employee promotion cycles,Recruitment of hourly employees like NEEM, Apprentices.
* Conducts exit interviews for salaried/management quits. Handles facility orientation for hires, and provides supervisors with checklists and facility packet of information
* Counsels employees and supervisors/managers at all levels of the organization in an effort to provide answers to questions, provides solutions to problems or explain policy and personnel practices, procedures or action involving employees.
* Retirements - Responsible for the facility retirement process and recognition program.
* Masters Degree - MSW or MLM*Knowledge of various Caterpillar personnel and/or benefits policies and programs
* Knowledge of safety requirements and OSHA regulations
* Personal computer skills
* The ability to maintain confidentiality
* Labor welfare experience
* 6 to 9 years of job-related experience
* Good human relations skills
* Committed internal employee to quickly respond to confidential policies and HR issues within Caterpillar
