Professor Electrical Job in Centurion University

1. To build up a research group with a focus on power electronics and converter systems applied to power networks and/or drive systems and/or electric and hybrid vehicle systems;

2. To develop laboratory facilities to support this research and associated teaching, collaborating closely with the Area Safety Officer in the development of safe systems of work for these laboratory facilities

3. To obtain funding from industry and research bodies to ensure the sustainability of this research activity within a 3 year period

4. To contribute to the teaching portfolio of the Engineering Department as delegated by the Head of Department. In particular to take a major role in the teaching of power systems engineering, electrical drive systems and similar topics in the Electronic and Electrical Engineering (EEE) undergraduate programme

5. To support 3rd and 4th student projects, including Formula Student electric and similar projects related to electric vehicles

6. To work closely with the Battery Systems Engineering group in the application of energy storage to resolution of power system problems

7. In support of the Department strategy, to develop postgraduate programmes supporting the needs of local industry in the area of electrical engineering

8. To contribute to third mission activities involving the university with the local community

9. To contribute to a strategic vision for the development of research and teaching

10. To undertake administrative and any other duties appropriate to the grade as allocated by the Head of Department.
