Position Overview

The Subsurface AI Specialist will design and implement AI solutions using advanced analytics, modeling, and machine learning to optimize subsurface exploration and production. This role enhances decision-making, automates workflows, and improves resource extraction processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI solutions for subsurface exploration and production.
  • Identify AI opportunities to improve decision-making and automate workflows.
  • Collaborate with Chevron subsurface practitioners and IT teams to deploy innovative AI solutions.
  • Communicate AI value propositions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure ethical AI usage and compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Analyze and interpret subsurface data to support resource management and decision-making.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in AI solution development for complex business problems.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas value chain (upstream, midstream, downstream).
  • Strong background in machine learning, data science, and AI technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and cloud AI/ML services like Azure and Databricks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agentic AI.
