IT Lead responsibilities include: Lead the team in supporting and providing solutions. Communicate successfully all architectural /automation concepts and guidelines to the business and team members. Oversee the progress of the product team to ensure alignment with the initial design. Manage / Improve tools, responsible for maintaining and upgrading tools and establishing automation. This may include integrating tools with other development technology. Owning the ongoing design, implementation, and management of the OCI environment, testing and implementation of new services as they become available in the OCI environment. The building, upgrading, and maintaining the performance of the API and CLI layer between tools and the OCI console Documenting and creating playbooks for administrative/support actions to be used by Production Support. Developing/growing a team of resources to create automation to manage the OCI platform and own platform operations. Collaborating with external teams within the company to solve complex problems. Candidate will also support the Ciena Oracle OCI environment consisting of both Oracle E Business Suite (EBS) and non-EBS databases, located in three North American sites to support activities that occur during the candidate s working hours. Support includes of these environments include: Core DBA tasks: o Monitors alerts and corrects problems per trained procedures, including but not limited to space related problems. o Moves code from dev to test using Kintana or other means per procedures o Applies RDBMs patches o Identifies blocking locks and other performance related issues remediates per accepted procedures o Takes on-call rotation for one week (involves work outside of normal hours) o Refreshes databases as needed o General core DBA duties as assigned Oracle EBS DBA tasks: o Applies application patches o Assists with End of Month duties (requires weekend work). o Monitors nightly jobs for performance problems or blocking locks o Refreshes Oracle EBS databases as needed Required Skills o Excellent knowledge of core Oracle databases required (up through 19c) o Proficient knowledge of Oracle EBS database administration through 12.2.4 required, including concurrent processing, system administration, start up and shut down, RAC, OEM in the EBS space, support of printing including XML, managing of schema statistics, identification of poorly performing queries, performance tuning, RAC refreshes. o Knowledge of Oracle EBS system administration to monitor concurrent requests and collect information on job logs o Comfort with linux and windows able to login to various environments, start/stop/monitor services in these environments determine status or issues in these environments o Unix shell scripting o Excellent communication skills o DBAs and Oracle EBS sysadmins, effectively communicate issues and results, and report on issues with clarity. o Off-schedule hours must have ability to work from home if requested. Will take up to one week per month as on-call DBA. Will assist with some End of Month (weekend) activities and will monitor and process refreshes.
