We are looking for motivated Software Engineers with penchant for learning to join our team. What will you do at Ciena? The candidate will join Blue Planet division of Ciena and will be involved in the design and development of next generation softwares and software architectures. This position will focus on software design and implementation. As part of a software development team, you will work on the team of routing experts and architects to develop the Blue Planet Route Optimization and Assurance (ROA) software that encompasses work in the areas of route analytics, networking and distributed systems. You will be introduced to new technologies, design practices, development and debugging techniques that will help you grow both professionally and personally. The candidate will be expected to provide basic assessment of own work including effort estimation, status reporting etc. The candidate will get enough exposure for continuous learning and development of skills in the related domain. Required Skills: Good understanding of Software Design and OOP principles and C and C++ programming. Good understanding of STL Development using Linux/UNIX environment is desirable Good systems knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating system Strong data structures and algorithm skills Good design, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter with a strong can do belief, who can work in a dynamic environment with little supervision.
