Engineer Manager - Cloud & Virtualization (security) Job in Cisco Systems

JOB DESCRIPTION

Cisco is a market leader in security products and technologies that includes ASA Firewall, Next Gen Firewall, Intrusion Prevention Sensor, Email and Web Security Appliances. Cisco's Security Business currently at 2 Billion USD revenue annually from its products and services is growing at fast pace. Security Business Group (SBG) of Cisco Systems (India) is looking to hire experienced innovative technical leader who can make a huge difference in our Cloud virtualization team where there are multiple challenging problems from virtualization platform to cloud to solve.

Primary Responsibilities:

Build, Manage and Mentor team of talented engineers to build generic, end to end cloud virtual security products. Responsible for timely delivery of the team responsibilities. Build a high performing team. Understand Cisco Process. Techincal knowledge in cloud / virtualization technologies and security domain.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for managingnew cloud virtualization platform team. Mentor the team and guide them in Agile development methodologies. Define the team roadmap. Align team goals to release plan. Work with other stake holders in different teams. Responsible for timely delivery of the team's commitments and lead from the front.

Who You are:

A qualified candidate will possess:

MS/BS in computer science or engineering

10 + years of software developmentand experience of managing a team of size 10.

Good understanding of virtualization technology and cloud development.

Define the road map of the team.

Responsible for team delivery.

Ability to build and retain the high-performance team.

Understand Agile Methodology and tools like Rally / Target process.

Define Team goals.

Performance evaluation of the team.

Work with other stake holders in different teams like PM, Escalation, Development and test.

Strong planning and execution skills.

Timely escalation of critical issues to upper management.

Risk analysis and Mitigation

Experience in managing Agile teams responsible for both development and automation.

Support and motivate team during critical customer escalations.

Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills

Understanding of different tools and process.

Work with upper management to provide right estimation of any solution delivery.

Guide the team and answer any technical queries during solution development or testing.

Help the team to fix any production issues.
