Cloud Engineer (offsite) Job in Clovertex

Job Role: Cloud Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud solutions for HPC environments, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
• Implement scalable, reliable infrastructure to support various applications and workloads.
• Apply AWS best practices for performance optimization, reliability, and cost management.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment of applications and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines tailored for scientific and engineering applications.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within AWS environments.
• Design and implement optimized HPC solutions for scientific and engineering workloads on the cloud.
• Oversee HPC deployments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers and developers to ensure seamless integration of HPC solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot HPC workloads in cloud environments.
• Stay current with advancements in HPC, cloud technologies, and scientific/engineering applications.
• Document and share best practices related to HPC and cloud integration.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM, EFS, FSx, VPC).
• Basic understanding of HPC principles and parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS).
• Experience with Linux system administration.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and HPC services (AWS experience preferred).
• Proven experience with DevOps pipelines, adapting scientific/engineering applications for the cloud.
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.).
• Basic understanding of job schedulers (e.g., Slurm, SGE, PBS).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Experience with Linux administration.
• Knowledge of parallel clusters and HPC administration.
• Familiarity with Slurm job schedulers.
