Customer/Team Relationship

Under no supervision, serves as the subject matter expert

Develop database solutions in the areas on both system side and application side as well as design/implement databases in the cloud

Works with customers on presenting business/technical solutions for complex business functionalities

Demonstrates leadership skills and proven ability to work effectively with different teams directly and in a matrix environment

Acts as the primary Database Administration expert

Solution Development

Serves as the subject matter expert and works collaboratively with a team of SMEs, senior software architects and developers to implement solutions

Evaluates new solutions and technologies in the areas of Database and security related products

Participates in logical and physical database designs

Interfaces with stakeholders to understand an organizations data needs

Keeps abreast of IT industry trends and developments to help identify potential new technologies for the improvement of Academys systems infrastructure

Designs, develops and enforces standards and architecture for all data needs within the organization

Designs, develops and enforces standards, and architecture for installing, configuring and using databases and database related products

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of database administration to ensure high quality

Demonstrates advanced expertise and contributes to the Database Administration practice by publishing technology points of view through the creation of white papers and facilitation of workshops

Tools & Techniques

Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)

Proficient in Oracle Database features and functionalities; Excellent hands on in handling DB Upgrades Oracle 12c to Oracle 19c

Preferred Oracle database administration working experience on AWS and Oracle cloud platform. Experience in Oracle 10g/11g/12c environments

Experience in 10G/11G RAC, ASM, OEM 11g/12c, RMAN, Data Guard, Flashback technology, DB upgrades, DB patching

Expert in implementing DR Solutions (Data Guard, Golden Gate)

Expert in implementing containerization methodology

Knowledge of Health Insurance products and services

Willingness to learn new Technology and Challenges

Experience in Production / Technical / Operations Support

Knowledge of the business goals, objectives and business operations for the appropriate FIS organization

Strong replication experience (Data Guard, Golden Gate), in addition to backup and recovery (RMAN)

implementations

Expert in implementing Database Security Products like Oracle TDE, Oracle Data Masking, Oracle Database Vault, Oracle Audit Vault, OCM, RMAN Encryption etc.

Workload isolation in the cloud & Automatic indexing ; well versed in configuring CDB and PDB

Strong knowledge in Backup & Recovery (RMAN) and DB Monitoring (OEM) Technologies

Moderate to Expert Level Experience in Performance Tuning techniques (Tuning PL/SQL code/Databases/Application Code, AWR, ADDM, ASH, Profiler, TFA etc.)

Proficiency in basic SQL and Database Tuning

Working knowledge of Engineered Systems like Oracle SuperCluster, Exadata is preferrable.

Experience in working with Database Security Solutions like Encryption-At-Rest, Encryption-In-Flight, Audit Monitoring etc.

Strong troubleshooting skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, with a working knowledge of the rest of the Microsoft Office suite of applications

Domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or healthcare verticals is preferable

8-10 years as lead on projects

Oracle Certified Associate or Professional Certification is preferred
