EMAIL SECURITY ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Email Security Engineer is responsible to maintain the Email Security systems that protect Comcast

Enterprise email for our employees and contractors. The position will work closely with other team

members to configure and monitor Email Security applications that deliver valid email to our

employees and remove Spam, Phishing, and malicious content.

Responsible for monitoring the health of the Email Security platforms.

Responsible for resolving tickets escalated to the Email Security team to allow or block specific

domains.

Responsible for maintaining and building relationships with stakeholders to minimize risks to Comcast.

This position will require strong teamwork with the Email Security team, Security Incident Response

Team, the Messaging team and Business Stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

Passionate about endpoint security including endpoint protection, zero day threats, advanced persistent threats, data loss prevention, and compliance.

Drives security issues through to closure by engaging all appropriate resources. Provides guidance and recommended solutions to complex technical issues.

Handle email related malware and phishing incidents and provide high-level support with help desk tickets related to Anti-Spam

Implement and customize email filtering rules

Performs complex and routine maintenance updates for endpoint security products.

Maintain product release process and testing including back out plans. Ensures all maintenance is properly validated to minimize subscriber impact.

Provides input to support teams and vendors on defects and required enhancements.

Identifies and recommends areas requiring change or modification.

Skills:

Operational knowledge of SMTP mail routing and basic networking.

Experience with Malware prevention solutions

Linux Command line/ Terminal?experience

Strong background with Windows operating systems

Good communicator able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues

Great design and problem solving skills

Adaptable, proactive and driven to take ownership

Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment.

Experience:

2 to 3 years Enterprise security experience.

Mail Gateway (Anti-Spam) software experience

Knowledge of Symantec Messaging Gateway, Agari Enterprise Protection, Fireeye Ex a plus

Experience with Proofpoint TAP and TRAP products a plus
