Job Summary Job Summary: We are looking for an Engineering Systems Support Manager to oversee the installation, support, and improvement of engineering software and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing technical support, managing system changes, and ensuring the effective operation of engineering tools. This role combines managerial responsibilities with hands-on technical expertise in supporting and improving engineering software. Managerial Responsibilities (30%): 1. Software Installation & Licensing: Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of engineering software and resolve any licensing or access control issues. 2. Helpdesk Support: Resolve helpdesk tickets and provide customer support for installations, training, and ongoing application support for assigned products. 3. System Changes & Implementations: Support major system changes, including new hardware and software implementations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption. 4. Engineering Systems Development: Coordinate engineering systems development by managing planning, scheduling, ordering, and tracking related tasks. 5. Improvement Projects: Participate in improvement projects and conduct team audits, taking corrective actions when necessary to ensure process and product quality. General Professional Practice (GPP) Responsibilities (70%): 1. Technical Support: Maintain a mid-level understanding of Windows or UNIX operating systems and interfaces to provide effective support for engineering tools. 2. Cross-functional Reviews: Participate in cross-functional reviews, collecting data and metrics using tools like Six Sigma to identify areas for improvement. 3. Process Improvement Tools: Track processes, monitor system performance, and utilize tracking systems and other improvement tools to identify areas of improvement. 4. Corrective Actions: Implement corrective actions based on problem reports and change requests, ensuring that software products meet high-quality standards. 5. Customer & Supplier Interface: Serve as the point of contact between customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions to ensure smooth operations and communication. 6. Documentation & Reporting: Document tasks and report progress on systems and tools such as CGT Windchill, CREO, and AutoCAD. Create assemblies and drawings in CREO, ensuring adherence to GD&T standards and product knowledge. Competencies & Skills: Engineering Software Application: Ability to support and certify engineering software to enable efficiency for engineering users. Customer Focus: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, delivering customer-centric solutions. Collaboration: Effectively work with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives. Problem-Solving: Take corrective actions based on problem reports and change requests to improve system quality. Communication Skills: Develop and deliver communications that are clear and tailored to different audiences. Interpersonal Savvy: Relate comfortably with diverse groups and build strong relationships both within and outside the organization. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A two-year associate s degree or relevant certification from an accredited institution in a STEM field is preferred. Experience: Intermediate-level work experience in engineering systems support or related roles, gained through education, training, or hands-on experience. Experience in managing engineering software, providing helpdesk support, and implementing systems changes is a plus.
