Job Title: Procurement Engineer (Steel Fabrication)

Location: Bangalore

Position Overview: As a Procurement Specialist specializing in Steel Fabrication, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient sourcing and management of the supply chain for raw materials, fabricated goods, transportation, and related components crucial for our operations. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing vendor evaluations, negotiating contracts, managing supplier performance, and ensuring timely processing of invoices while upholding quality and cost-efficiency standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Source and Manage Supply Chain:

• Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for raw materials (HR/CR/GI/SS plates, pipes, structural materials), fabricated goods, transportation services, paint, and bought-out parts.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services.

• Continuously monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to optimize the supply chain and minimize risks.

2. Vendor Evaluation and Assessment:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential vendors, considering factors such as quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.

• Utilize vendor evaluation metrics to objectively assess supplier performance and capabilities.

• Implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with supplier selection and procurement processes.

3. Negotiation and Contract Management:

• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and quality standards.

• Draft, review, and finalize procurement contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor contract compliance and address any deviations or disputes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

4. Supplier Performance Management:

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure supplier performance against established benchmarks.

• Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration with suppliers to drive operational excellence.

5. Invoice Verification and Processing:

• Verify the accuracy of supplier invoices against contractual agreements and purchase orders.

• Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure timely processing and payment of invoices in accordance with contract terms.

• Resolve any discrepancies or billing issues in a proactive and professional manner. Skills and Ǫualifications:

• Proven experience of 4-7 years in procurement, preferably within the steel fabrication or manufacturing industry.

• In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management principles, and industry best practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex supplier- related issues and develop effective solutions.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successfully managing supplier relationships.

• Proficiency in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contractual agreements.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software for invoice processing and supply chain optimization.

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
