Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Architect - AWS/GCP with Database Migration Expertise

Exp: 8-10 years

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect with expertise in rearchitecting and migrating on-premises systems to cloud platforms, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Additionally, the ideal candidate should be proficient in database migration, specifically migrating from Oracle (Oracle Database) to PostgreSQL (PG) within the context of cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Strategy Development:

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and IT requirements.

Define and develop a comprehensive cloud adoption strategy, encompassing AWS and GCP, to align with organizational goals.

Cloud Solution Design:

Architect cloud solutions, ensuring they are scalable, cost-effective, and resilient.

Create detailed architectural designs and technical specifications for cloud environments, considering the migration of Oracle databases to PostgreSQL.

Rearchitecting Legacy Systems:

Evaluate existing on-premises systems and applications, including Oracle databases, for cloud readiness.

Redesign and reconfigure systems to leverage cloud-native features and cloud-compatible databases.

Database Migration Expertise:

Plan and execute the migration of Oracle databases to PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

Develop and implement data migration strategies, scripts, and tools.

Cloud Security and Compliance:

Implement security best practices and compliance standards in cloud architecture, particularly for databases.

Define and enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies for cloud resources, including databases.

Automation and Orchestration:

Utilize infrastructure as code (IAC) to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.

Implement automation and orchestration scripts for database migration and cloud resource management.

Performance Optimization:

Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize cloud infrastructure and databases.

Set up monitoring and alerting systems to ensure optimal resource utilization and database performance.

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, migration plans, and database configurations.

Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams for ongoing database management and support.

Vendor Evaluation:

Stay informed about the latest cloud technologies and offerings from AWS and GCP.

Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new cloud services and database solutions as they become available.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

6+ years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect with a focus on AWS and GCP.

AWS and GCP certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus.

Strong expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure design, migration strategies, and database migration.

In-depth understanding of rearchitecting legacy systems for the cloud and migrating Oracle databases to PostgreSQL.

Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, GCP Deployment Manager).

Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards, particularly for databases.

Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
