Job description

We are looking for an experienced WordPress developer responsible for the development and maintenance of high-end web applications for our international clients ranging from a wide variety of industry verticals. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.

Job responsibilities

• Developing dynamic and fully editable websites using the user-facing layout designs provided by front-end developers
• Working on existing websites and web applications for further enhancement/addition of features
• Build efficient, testable, and reusable codebase
• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
• Creating user-friendly back-end for future website management by admin
• Creating SEO friendly websites and web applications

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of core PHP
• Hands-on experience and expertise in custom theme development in WordPress
• Hands-on experience and expertise in pre-built theme customization
• Being able to work with minimal usage of plugins
• Skill and knowhow to build custom plugins as required will be preferred
• Working knowledge of building custom-designed websites with Visual Composer or other page builders
• Working knowledge on e-commerce websites using Woocommerce along with common payment gateways Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay etc.
• Should be highly proficient with speed optimization of WordPress websites
• Knowledge of MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, XML
• Working knowledge of REST APIs- JSON
• Good to have Javascript framework knowledge
• Knowledge of version control system Git
• Working knowledge of the common WordPress or web server exploits and their solutions
• Working knowledge of cloud servers Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure etc.
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3 and Bootstrap
• Knowhow of integration of multiple WordPress installations if required

• Experience in website performance optimization

• Needs to have problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills. Ideally in English but not mandatory
• Good to have previous experience of direct client interaction for project brief and updates
