Position Overview

Job Title: AVP Java Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Our technology teams are responsible for the banks entire information technology infrastructure. They develop and maintain the software required to support the banks business. The teams work closely with the businesses and other infrastructure units to modernise the banks IT systems to reduce complexity, risk and enable business growth.

Your key responsibilities

• Successful candidates will join the global Origination & Advisory team that supports a complex set of applications which underpin critical business processes for Research, Corporate Finance including Index pricing, Research Index(DBIQ) ,Authoring, business MIS, workflow and document distribution.
• Working with colleagues including those in infrastructure and application development teams your role will be to ensure the stable running of the technology platform. This includes liaising with business users and managing a complex technology plant.
• Colleagues across Global Technology and our clients are based in key metro and service center locations across the regions and time zones. The role requires being able to work effectively across teams, cultures and locations.
• The individual is expected to be able to understand and manage rapidly changing and sometimes complex events on behalf of the business. They are also expected to be able to translate technical details in to business semantics and vice versa.
• The candidate joining Research Index Business will have to work in shifts as part of a ROTA covering APAC and EMEA hours between 06:30 IST and 08:00 PM IST (2 shifts). Weekend coverage needs to be provided on Rota basis for all the business lines

Your skills and experience

• Designs and develops source code, including descriptions, for all Software Components in accordance with specifications (user stories)
• Aligns to the defined architectures of technical solutions applying best practices within their solution implementation
• Contributes to problem and root cause analysis
• Experience designing and developing RESTful web services
• Experience deploying to public / private cloud
• Experience using Kafka, Flink
• HTML and CSS skills and knowledge.
• JUnit (or Selenium) experience.
• Agile development experience.
• Experience with using Build Tools (preferably Maven), Source Code Control (preferably Git), Continuous Integration (Hudson, Jenkins or TeamCity)
• Strong experience of working in an analytical, confident, articulate, enthusiastic way and ability to operate independently
• Undergraduate Degree from an accredited college or university
