Position Description

  • The position is for a Senior Developer/Architect/Data Scientist.
  • People management is nice to have and not mandatory .
  • As the position is of senior engineer, it demands technical maturity in-terms of design decisions and overall vigilance of quality.
  • The key result area of this position is teams ability to deliver high quality code/ data science models which are testeable, maintainable and meets all the business requirement.

Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Conceptualizes and designs ML models to reduce false positive alerts.
  • Demonstrates effectiveness of models by comparing results.
  • Reviews and approves designs and takes decisions on approprite options.
  • Guides and grooms team members to deliver good quality code and ML based models.
  • Reviews and approves stash pull requests.
  • Supports high severity production incidents if there are any.

People Management

As such this is not a people manager role but still the individual should be

  • able to coach others in the organisation, as appropriate
  • Actively support the business strategy, plan and value, contributing to the achievement of a high performance culture
  • Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
  • Act as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment

Experience/ Exposure

  • Hands on expert in Machine Learning Modelling.
  • Hands on working exposure in NLP.
  • Good experience / exposure of working in financial industry.
  • Expert level knowledge of Python and associated libraries.
  • Experience with Hadoop Ecosystem with concepts like Spark, Hive etc.
  • Awareness/information about DevOps practices like CI/CD
  • Hands on knowledge of Shell Scripting
  • At-least 2 years of experience of working Machine Learning models.
  • Demonstratable presence on Data science industry forums and competitions like kaggle.
  • Demonstratable industry recognition for Data science knowledge
  • Association with academic institute
  • Overall 13+ years of work experience

Education/ Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or IT-related discipline (or equivalent work experience/diploma/certification).
  • Ideally a mathematician who have educational background and understand statistical modelling and can apply modelling techniques to analyse data.
