Position Overview

Job Title VSG - Valuations Specialist

Location Mumbai

The Valuations Specialist provides accurate valuations, based on subject matter expertise and an in-

depth understanding of the financial products/transactions/collaterals, market data /trends and valuation methodologies and recommends appropriate valuation risk mitigation strategies. Where the role incorporates control function responsibilities, the Valuations Specialist will provide an independent validation of the valuations, including the recommendation of appropriate valuation adjustments, where relevant, to ensure reflection of the accurate value of assets and liabilities in the financial books and records of the Bank. They will also contribute to the development of valuation control policies and/or methodologies, in line with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

Position Description:

  • Circulation of the monthly Flash memo to global stakeholders
  • Reporting of IPV results for Daily IPV to the CIB and GVG ExCo
  • Reporting of month-end IPV results along with meaningful commentary to the VCOC for review
  • Quarterly review of IPV tolerances and analysis shared with Global stakeholders for ratification and implementation
  • Good understanding of the IPV reporting timelines and providing guidance and support to the business during various submission deadlines
  • Investigation of VCR issues and/or Qlikview feed issues
  • Challenge commentary submissions by the business for clarity and market color on variances and breaches
  • Governance around controls such as VCR submissions, accuracy and adherence to key standard operating procedures, Valuations policies, RED Flag Policy for DIPV
  • Business specific desk packs for senior GVG management, Front Office, Risk Management and Finance
  • Take a lead in driving process improvements and automations
  • Be involved in ad-hoc projects / investigation requests from Stakeholders
  • Adherence to Escalation matrix

Experience/ Exposure

Experience:

  • 2-4 years relevant experience in Finance valuations
  • Awareness of regulatory environment (IFRS, Brexit, IHC)
  • Basic knowledge of financial instruments Bonds, CDS, IR and greeks Delta, Vega etc.

Skills:

  • A self-starter with an ability to demonstrate ownership, accountability and high on integrity
  • Must have strong MS Excel and Access skills (knowledge of VBA is a plus)
  • Quick learner with strong communication skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, an eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
