The candidate shall have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Splunk software development and analysis, with a concentration in Cyber Security. If the candidate has a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, 3 to 5 years of experience in Information Technology, software engineering, or software development is required.


The candidate should be familiar with recognizing and onboarding new data sources into Splunk, analyzing the data for anomalies and trends, and building dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data. The Splunk engineer should be familiar with a Linux environment, editing and maintaining Splunk configuration files and apps.


The Splunk engineer will work with other Cybersecurity Engineering team members and will be required to interact with end users to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and provide assistance with the creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards. The Splunk engineer will be required interact with senior management, as necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain Splunk infrastructure for a highly available and disaster recovery configuration
  • Administer Splunk and Splunk Application for Enterprise Security (ES)
  • Standardize Splunk agent deployment, configuration and maintenance across a variety of UNIX and Windows platforms
  • Troubleshoot Splunk server and agent problems and issues
  • Assist internal users of Splunk in designing and maintaining production-quality dashboards
  • Mentor users and other groups on their use of Splunk
  • Monitor the agent and server infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization
  • Monitor core systems performance and troubleshoot logs
  • Support Splunk on Unix, Linux and Windows-based platforms
  • Perform data mining and analysis, utilizing various queries and reporting methods
  • Solve complex Integration challenges and debug complex configuration issues
  • Technical writing/creation of formal documentation such as technical designs, and SOPs
  • Create and maintain Knowledge Objects in Splunk
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in Splunk role
  • 2+ Years experience in Linux and SQL/ODBC interfaces (OR)
  • 2+ Years experience in app interface development, using REST APIs
  • ITIL Change & Configuration Management
  • Splunk certifications good to have
  • Knowledge about AWS and Azure good to have
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
  • Experience working with diverse teams
Must one of the following certifications:

CASP, Comptia Cloud+, Comptia Network+, Comptia Security+, or Comptia Linux+CEH, CCFP, CCSP, CSSLP, or SSCPCCNA, CCNP, CCNA Security
