Job Summary

Job brief

We are looking for passionate individuals who would love to go deeper into how children learn and to build high-quality assessment tools and learning modules that can uncover gaps in students learning. The content team at Educational Initiatives is involved in creating engaging and insightful assessment tools that test the level of understanding of the subject content and competence in scholastic skills of children. The team is also involved in creating discerning questions and interactive content like games, enrichment/remedial modules, etc. to help children learn with understanding.

Role and Responsibilities

The role mainly involves creation and review of engaging content for the learning and assessment products at EI, and leading small teams of content developers. This may include the following:

- Planning and monitoring tasks for the team and ensuring the goals are met

- Ensuring the quality of the content is being reviewed as per the set processes

- Creating creative assessment items for diagnostic and benchmarking purposes

- Reviewing and revising existing content based on quality, technical correctness and student performance data

- Mapping textbook content to the existing question bank

- Assembling tests from the question bank, and reviewing assembled test papers

- Studying textbooks and exploring online resources to design content for school students

- Reviewing textbooks to understand how different concepts are taught

- Studying curricula from other educational systems and online resources to learn about the best approaches to teaching a concept

- Creating scaffolded content (discerning questions, interactive content like games, enrichment/remedial modules, etc.) aligned towards teaching concepts in a pedagogically sound and engaging manner

- Creating diagnostic tests to effectively gauge student learning

- Researching on learning & teaching methodologies through reading and sharing of academic journals, analysing student performance data on questions, interacting with external subject experts, interacting with teachers and students for insights about students learning

Requirements

Skill set:

Required skills:

- Excellent subject knowledge

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to critically analyse assessment and learning content

- Ability to create and source engaging content for students

- Basic technological awareness

- Sticking to tight schedules and effective workload management

Preferred skills:

- Should enjoy working in a team and across teams

- Should enjoy healthy debates and arguments which are critical for strong content and product development

- Ability to interact in a productive manner with teachers and students, if needed; this should be geared towards gleaning information that will help us improve our understanding of how students learn and towards improving our offerings


Qualification :
Subject background, at a Bachelor's level or above
Experience Required :

2 to 5 Years
