Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities: Develops control system I/O lists for turbine control systems from existing documentation such as electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, device summary, wiring lists, control logic, control narratives, etc. Develops detailed designs interfacing Ovation DCS control equipment with existing power generation equipment. Prepares wire/cable lists for demolition and installation Reviews low voltage control panel and control circuit designs for accuracy and best practices. Integrates third party devices using industry standard serial and ethernet based protocols. Leverages knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Project and Excel to efficiently accomplish engineering tasks. Proactively engages with lead engineers and project managers to ensure deliverables and schedules are met. Leverages interpersonal skills to coordinate designs across multiple teams. Works independently and completes work efficiently. Requirements: Experience working with DCS or PLC industrial control system hardware. Experience working with pressure transmitters, thermocouples, RTDs, level switches, control valves, etc. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics such as motor control circuits, generator protection panels, and electrical single line and three-line diagrams. Ability to read and understand control system documentation such as SAMA diagrams, Function Block Diagrams, PLC ladder logic, Relay Logic, etc. Experience and working knowledge of redundancy and failsafe practices. Experienced with data communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, etc. Working knowledge of computer networking, including IP addressing. Proactive, detail oriented, with a sense of ownership. 1st Division or equivalent GPA 10th / 12th / Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Engineering from four-year College or University with Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience. Desired Skills: Experienced designing and developing hardware and software with the Ovation DCS product line. Experience with the operation, maintenance, or design of combustion turbines and power generation equipment. First-hand experience with an OEM control system such as GE MKV/MKVI/MKVIe, Siemens TXP/Simadyn, Woodward Micronet, SAMA diagrams, PLC ladder logic, Relay Logic, etc. Experience with heavy duty combustion turbines such as General Electric, Westinghouse, or Siemens . Experience with Aero-derivative combustion turbines such as GE LM6000, Pratt & Whitney FT4 or FT8. Experienced with speed measurement, overspeed protection, vibration monitoring, electro-hydraulic control valves, and servo actuated control valves. Knowledgeable in 3-phase power measurement, synchronization, generator excitation, and related systems. Experienced using AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting Experienced leveraging tools such as Excel, databases, and various programming languages to automate tasks.
