As part of our claims examiner team, you will play a vital role in reviewing, investigating, and assessing group health and dental benefit claims. You will be responsible for making payment decisions and ensuring performance targets are met. Accountabilities:

  • Review and Investigate Claims: Assess Canadian health and dental claims based on group policy contracts, ensuring compliance with guidelines.

  • Follow-Up with Providers: Conduct follow-ups with health and dental service providers for incomplete claims information.

  • Adjudicate Claims: Make accurate payment decisions according to adjudication guidelines, ensuring fairness and accuracy.

  • Adherence to Values: Embody Empower s core values: Customer View, Integrity, Partnership, and Communities, in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in claims examination or related field.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to handle large volumes of work with a high level of accuracy and analytical ability.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and effective interaction.

  • Organizational Skills: Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently.

  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Customer Service Focused: A strong customer service focus with the ability to address claims issues with professionalism and care.
