Roles and responsibilities

• Candidates should be a Red hat Certified Linux administrator.
• Candidates should have worked in Unix/Linux Platforms like Red Hat Linux/Cent OS/Fedora.
• Should have Administrative experience in UNIX like User Management, Process & Daemon Management, and Software (Patches & Packages) Management.
• Installation, Configuration, Maintenance of Linux infrastructure.
• Performs system integration testing of Linux operating systems and related utilities/hardware.
• Responsible for troubleshooting Linux based hardware and software problems.
• Develops procedures for routine admin including backup/restore, shutdown & start-up.
• Provides recommendations for improving the server environment, such as capacity thresholds, security gap, patch levels and hardware recalls.
• Should have worked on File systems Permissions, Exporting & Mounting File Systems, Recovering File system Errors and Device Path Management.
• Should have worked on Performance issues, Volume Managers & clusters.
• Knowledge of Disk Space Management, Performing user administration, performing System security, configuring network file system and Auto FS.
• Hands on experience in setup, configuration, upgrade, maintenance, performance monitoring and troubleshooting of servers running on different Linux OS platforms 6 and 7.
• Experience in Linux system services such DNS, DHCP, NFS, NIS, Samba, NTP, Apache/Tomcat.
• To manage procedures for routine support including backup/restore, shutdown & start-up.
• Experience in LVM and Raid management.
• Knowledge on package management via RPM/Yum.
• Apply OS patches and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as per infra requirement.
• Should be having good knowledge of SAN topologies, Fiber Channel, Multi-pathing.
• Configuration and management of multipath solution for SAN storage LUNs.
• Hand on experience in Administering High Availability Cluster, failover scenarios, load balanced environment knowledge.
• Knowledge in Cron jobs.
• Knowledge in UNIX kernel tuning and performance analysis.
• Knowledge in OS recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
• Knowledge in shell scripting and automation.
• Should have a knowledge such as Incident, Problem, Change Management as well as Capacity, Availability, Continuity Management and others.
• Good Level of Knowledge & experience in Virtualization.
• Knowledge on Hyper-V/Virtualization is an add-on.
• Hands on Windows patching via SCCM.
• Troubleshoot patching related issues.
• Should have good knowledge on Data backups, configuration and restore.
• Hands on with any backup tool is an added advantage.
• Experience on monitoring parameters and its fine tuning as per business requirements.
• Good knowledge about Web servers and load balancers.
• Willing to work in shifts and cover out of office hours as per business needs.
• Good knowledge on ITIL process.
