Expedia Group is one of the largest providers of cars rentals globally. The Expedia Car team builds the experience and platform that powers the Car rental business within Expedia Group which includes Brand Expedia Group (BEXG) and Egencia.

The Cars platform supports millions of users every year in finding a suitable rental car using technologies such as Java, Node.js, GraphQL ReactJS, Spring, MSSQL, DynamoDB, Redis at scale powered by AWS. We encourage experiments in new technologies while keeping a healthy balance between short term and long-term goals. We deeply care about building a phenomenal customer experience using technologies in which we expect the team to explore and innovate solutions to the problems at hand.

We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented and hands-on senior software engineer to deliver on our product and technology roadmap as we look to drive double digit growth for the Cars business while ensuring operating stability of the Cars platform.

What youll do:

• Owns design, development, testing, deployment, and providing operational perfection and support for mid to large scale projects.
• You find and advocate for Industry standards and standard methodologies in development methodologies, techniques, and technologies
• You contribute to advancing the team's design methodology and quality programming practices and mentor junior team members to adapt standard methodologies
• Innovate and implement new insights to solve sophisticated software problems and prototype creative solutions to enable product MVP's
• Independently understand scheduling, cost constraints, and impact to other teams; and make resource and architectural trade-offs
• Lead design discussions, and translate business requirements into technical tasks
• Be part of a dynamic, continuously delivering team using Agile development process
• Implement features for Expedia in Java, React and related technologies
• Collaborate with User Experience, Test and Technical Product management to deliver features

Who you are:

• Proven experience in the field of Software Engineering Full Stack
• Bachelor's or masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Showed strength in most areas of the professional function, and in-depth specialization in some
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present sophisticated technical information clearly and concisely
• Experience in Agile/Scrum software development practices
