Lead Python Developer Senior Engineer with Expertise in Python & AWS

Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented and motivated Lead Python Developer to join our team. You will take on a senior role in developing and optimizing Python-based applications, leading development efforts, and working with the latest technologies like AWS Step Functions and microservices. This is a dynamic position ideal for someone passionate about coding best practices and driving technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering: Take a senior/lead engineer role, managing tasks in a sprint, reviewing team code, and ensuring quality code delivery.
• Python Development: Write clean , well-structured Python code for scripting, automation, data processing, and backend services.
• API Integration & Testing: Integrate APIs and ensure thorough testing using tools like Pytest.
• Microservices Development: Design and develop microservices-based applications using Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
• AWS Integration: Work with AWS services like Step Functions, ECS, and Boto3 for AWS SDK integration, automation, and cloud-based solutions.
• Code Reviews & Best Practices: Ensure best design practices, code quality, and adherence to coding standards through code reviews and TDD (Test Driven Development).
• Database Design: Work with PostgreSQL for schema design, query optimization, and SQL performance tuning.
• Agile & DevOps: Follow agile development processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and functionality.
• Leadership: Mentor and guide junior developers while taking ownership of feature development and deployment.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development, with strong expertise in Python scripting, automation, and backend services.
• Experience with AWS Step Functions, Serverless workflows, and AWS integration.
• Proficiency in microservices architecture and frameworks like Flask or Django.
• Solid experience in Postgres schema design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and modern agile practices, including TDD and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git or SVN for version control.
• Passion for writing clean, efficient code and using best coding practices.
