Job Title Lead Software Engineering- Site Reliability Engineer

The Purpose of This Role

We are looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer with solid experience building and delivering DevOps ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) solutions for a large enterprise. The position is highly technical and balanced between development, engineering and operations roles such as systems configuration management and software development. Ideal candidates have expertise integrating, building, testing and deploying using DevOps practices.

The candidate will be working with a global team for evaluating, building, upgrading and maintaining multiple ALM technologies like BitBucket, Artifactory, CloudBees Jenkins, CloudBees Core on Kubernetes (AWS EKS). The role requires a thorough understanding of automated application install, deployment, upgrade and maintenance both on-premise as well as Cloud. This role requires performing on-call support activities as part of DevOps Model.

You'll need to have

  • Hands-on experience in a public cloud like AWS/Azure and related certification (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Demonstrating fluency in at least one development language such as Python, Ruby, Java/JavaScript, GoLang, etc.
  • Experience in DevOps and application strategies and practices likeContinuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Build AutomationandTest-Driven Development
  • Hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code with experience in tools like Chef, Ansible, Terraform, and fluency in writing cloud-native scripts like AWS CFT, Azure ARM templates etc
  • Automation-First mindset and experience in leading a team toward this

You also need two of these three

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS specifically)
  • In depth administrative knowledge of some of the DevOps-related capabilities such as Jenkins, BitBucket, Artifactory, Cloudbees Core, Concourse, GitLab, uDeploy, etc
  • Well-versed in running large scale, auto-scaling environments on-premise and in cloud

Education and Experience

  • BE preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems, MCA or equivalent
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent understanding of Software Developer Lifecycle, ALM tools & CI/CD process
  • Experience in setting up/administering ALM / DevOps tools
  • Strong experience with SRE and/or IT Operations
  • Ability to manage enterprise services as code
  • Knowledge and experience with continuous delivery software lifecycle
  • Strong Unix/Linux knowledge
  • Establishing proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities exist for all components of the platform
  • Strong API-first mindset. Experience developing APIs, and experience with API Management platforms (ideally Apigee)
  • Data Center Migrations Involving new environment build outs, DNS / Big IP changes, Application deployments, Monitor Implementations, setup Monitoring systems etc.
  • Experience in cloud migration is a plus
  • Production Environment support policies - Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management
  • Availability management, Infrastructure Planning, Application Architecting, Disaster Recovery Environment Configurations.
  • Must be able to act as a team player as well as work independently
  • Must be a quick learner and adapt to new tools and technologies
  • Good understanding of the Database concepts
  • Application Performance Management Tools and Fine Tuning Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafano
  • Knowledge of Cloud Formation/Terraform is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with team members is required.
