Responsibilities

• Research, Recommend and implement best practices of text based relevance systems that can scale.

• Develop new ranking features and techniques and build upon the latest results from the research community.

• Work with product management to analyse functional requirements and work towards taking this to production.

• Understand the existing use cases of search and work with the team to develop strategies to improve search relevance.

• Design and work to operationalize new search usage metrics and patterns to identify opportunities to improve search relevance.

• Write clean, testable, readable and maintainable code that scales. Take ownership of your code and features, from design through deployment and support.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in positions focused on Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, Text analysis, Learning to Rank, etc.

• Experience in implementing mathematical models and algorithms to improve search results

• Expertise in collecting, cleansing and reshaping unstructured/raw datasets.

• Good understanding of Data structures and algorithms and ability to write high performance code.

• Ability to quickly respond to the changing needs and roll out functionality in small, usable increments.

• Solid understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) model

• Solid engineering and coding skills. Ability to write high performance production quality code. Experience in Java, Python, Scala or similar languages is a plus.

• Experience on improving search relevance using Lucene/Solr/Elasticsearch or any other similar product.

• Experience on Service Oriented Architecture and RESTful APIs
