Responsibilities: As a Principal Engineer - UI, you'll be responsible for the following: Provide technical leadership: The PE provides technical leadership to other UI engineers on the team, mentoring them and ensuring they follow best practices and adhere to the UI architecture. Direct the UI development: The PE is responsible for building the user interface for our products, ensuring that it meets the needs of the stakeholders and users. They will work closely with other engineers, designers, and product managers to ensure the UI is developed efficiently and to a high standard. Design UI architecture: The PE will devise and implement the UI architecture, ensuring it is scalable, maintainable, and flexible enough to accommodate changes and updates. Stay close to the latest technologies: The PE will stay up-to-date with new UI technologies and best practices, assessing them for potential use in our projects. Ensure quality: The PE is responsible for ensuring that the UI has reusable and high-quality code and meets the functional and non-functional requirements of the product. Document work: The PE is responsible for documenting their work, including UI architecture, code, and testing, for ensuring that other engineers on the team can understand and maintain the UI in the future. Requirements: Experience: Our ideal candidate needs at least ten years of experience designing and implementing UI frameworks and systems, including three or more years of leadership experience in UI engineering. They must have hands-on experience in architecting large-scale front-end applications. Technical skills: The PE must have expert-level knowledge of UI frameworks, such as Flutter, React or Angular, and their associated libraries and tools. They must know modern testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Mocha or Chai. Proficiency in JavaScript, as well as experience with cross-browser compatibility and responsive design, is a must. Knowledge of design patterns, software development best practices, and agile development methodologies is also highly valued. The PE must have at least three years of experience deploying and maintaining applications on AWS. Problem-solving skills: The PE should be able to examine complex problems and develop creative solutions. They should be able to identify UI/UX design issues and propose solutions to resolve them.
