Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary: Engineer focused on mechanical integration of Rotor and Stator assembly in full eMotor subsystem, with more focus on Rotor assembly. Will work closely with motor electro-magnetic engineers to ensure full eMotor system meets performance targets, packaging constraints, Cooling requirements and reliability requirements as a system. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for driving the mechanical design, development and improvement of current and future generations of Electric Vehicle products for pre-production and production applications. Your responsibility will include all aspects of the integration and validation of the PM rotor and stator into the full eMotor system, driving the final system from concept to serial introduction, ensuring a robust design for SOP. Good understanding on Rotor Cooling concepts and optimization of Rotor cooling. Responsible for meeting all systems requirements (Functional Safety, Performance, Reliability, Quality, Costs & Timing) to fulfill quality requirements. Thermal, structural, rotordynamic stability, mechanical loss simulations to be performed and designs adjusted to meet motor & system level requirements of the application. Strong focus on system-level Design for Manufacture and Assembly and close alignment with prototype and production facilities Education: University mechanical engineering degree Experience: 5+ years of experience in development in automotive industry preferably in Electric Vehicle products in complete product cycle experience (concept to SOP) Experience with the CAD knowledge of Detailed 2D drawings and GD&T, part, assembly, and version management experience, Basic simulation experience preferred Skills: Functional Safety ISO26262 requirements and requirement management processes & tools Hands-on mechanical fabrication, prototyping and/or test experience Demonstrated experience with direct involvement in product launch or manufacturing support for mass production on Electric Vehicles systems development simulation and understanding product and process design tradeoffs. Knowledge of test rigs, instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis of test data Strong communication skills Hands-on approach Active English knowledge Fundamental knowledge of project management and ability to follow it
