Role Summary:
As Software Engineer, you will contribute to the product development and support for the Renewable Energy Asset Configuration Management Operations and Governance programs. You will lead technology innovation across enterprise and consumption systems to operationalize best practices and partner with key stakeholder teams in design and planning decisions. You will achieve this in an agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.Essential Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:- Contribute to the platform development of the Renewables Asset Management Platform operations program through the various stages to include, but not limited to project plan creation/execution, technical team coordination in development of solutions, business testing, change management, and end-user support
- Be flexible to development execution activities across multiple projects and drive common learnings, shared approaches and outcomes
- Use the Agile framework to identify key performance indicators, set milestones, and establish an operating cadence - demonstrate the understanding of Agile software development lifecycle and able to distinguish the core inputs and outputs in each cycle
- Proactively identifies and resolves issues and makes recommendations
- Ensure that the product development process abides by all defined cross-discipline standards and all compliance and regulatory requirements
- Manage and balance product, technical, security, process and deployment requirements and risks to ensure a successful delivery of assigned projects
- Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations and implementation strategy
- Build a variety of data loading & data transformation methods using multiple tools and technologies
- Analyze the impact of changes to downstream systems/products and recommend alternatives to minimize the impact
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in full software development lifecycle
- At least 3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer
- Strong design and development experience in Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web services using RESTful frameworks
- Strong hands-on experience with technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Hibernate, Spring/SpringBoot
- Strong hands-on experience in one of the following scripting frameworks (AngularJS, Node.js)
- Experience in API design and development, Microservices development
- Familiarity with AWS Cloud Development experience is required
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and technology, data modeling, SQL, and query optimization
- Demonstrated ability to execute in a technical environment and willingness to engage and understand technical solutions, challenges and issues
- Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
- Strong knowledge of Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and coding principles
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
- Practical exposure to and experience with IT Service Management with process-oriented perspective
- Experience in developing SaaS offerings using AWS cloud services: EC2, S3, EMR, Glue, etc.
- Experience with continuous integration, Docker, Maven and Jenkins
- Ability to lead and coach team members
- Use of documentation, collaboration, version control tools
- Ability to evaluate and select technologies to drive features and roadmaps
- Experience in the asset configuration management domain and enterprise ERP and PLM systems
- Lean and continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with functional and technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-cultural and remote teams
- Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas
