Job Description Key missions of the GSI Engineering Leader: Engineering strategy Improve the project engineering function at Inquiry to Order (ITO) as well as the engagement of Order to Remittance (OTR) team. Drive the operating mechanism in all the GSI engineering community globally. Define and implement the Make or Buy strategy for engineering activities. Identify and launch key initiatives to enable continuous improvement across the Engineering function. Management of engineering offices Directly manage the GSI Engineering Centre of Excellence (CoE) to ensure capabilities and capacity is developed to support the wider GSI community. Defining operational KPI s to continue CoE profitable growth. Create development and growth opportunities across Business Lines within GE Vernova. Lead the Project Engineering Office (PEO), Engineering processes, training, tools, setting operational targets and rhythm to ensure delivery across GSI Regions and Product Delivery Groups (PDG). Engineering process and tools Responsible for development and deployment of engineering tools and engineering quality process. Deploy GE GRID engineering tools and process, including collaboration across Business Lines for successful project execution). Secure the optimal IT infrastructure for the Engineering function. Ensure knowledge capitalization through return of experience. Product & Project Engineering Management Work with the GSI Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to support delivery of the business Long Term Technology strategy. Support development and cost reduction of GSI reference / baseline solutions and project delivery to reduce tendering and execution risks. Interact with customers to understand current challenges and gaps in engineering solutions and work with the CTO to identifyfuture business and product development opportunities. Communicate core business vision & strategy to grow & manage product portfolio. Develop & optimize key supply chain relationships, while understanding and implementing cost management strategies. People management, Training & Development Lead and manage the competency assessment of the global engineering community to ensure we have the appropriate skills and system engineering approach using CMMI, BIM etc. Ensure the teams have the right level of know-how and competency to perform their responsibilities. Regularly manage and review performance of Engineering leadership teams according to GE practices. Champion the Technical Expert Program and other associated initiatives that allow clear career path and development. Quality & Lean Comply with quality procedures, work instructions and processes at Grid solutions level and the Project Engineering function. Report or resolve any non-conformances to process in a timely manner. Identify areas of opportunity for standardization / optimization, undertaking Kaizens or similar lean events to implement any identified improvements. Use data to evaluate and identify root causes to Engineering function problems and take appropriate mitigation steps. Environment, Health and Safety (including Safety by Design). Set the process and governance around Implementation of design freeze and EHS in design. Demonstrate EHS leadership and ensure Zero Deviation Plan and our Safety Footprint Program is implemented. Takes responsibility to reward and encourage direct reports to take proactive steps toward all matters related to EHS. Lead by example and actively participates in defining corrective actions when work is unsafe or when an uncontrolled risk is observed. Desired Profile & Experience Minimum Bachelor s degree in Engineering from a recognized university. 15+ years of Engineering or Project Management activities in EPC type environment in T&D, Power Gen, Electrification, or the Oil & Gas industry. Successful experience in management of engineering, technology, or project management teams internationally. Knowledge of project execution risks and financial processes. Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period, as well as regular travel to customer offices, manufacturing facilities and project construction sites. Demonstrates ownership & accountability, judgment and decision making, influences & inspires team, creates a vision and strategy, and has passion for the role. Global experience and mindset including high technical cultural competence and sensitivity. Mastering of some engineering processes such as: Civil work, Plant configuration, control & protection hardware, System & performance studies, or Electrical design would be an advantage.
