Roles and Responsibilities

Scope of Role:

The Architectureengineer is responsible for the system architecture design and development to the highest standard, in fast-paced and technically-challenging projects, using model based development. From concept to series-development the successful candidate will ensure the delivery of anelectrical architecture of a vehicle that fulfils the project requirements (performance, attributes, cost & timing).

Candidate must be hungry for success with a keen eye for detail and quality. Ability to take criticism and challenge with facts and evidence to ensure there is no ambiguity that communications are clear and timely and through the relevant channels. Reporting must be concise and to the point. Planning and execution of those fully tracked and reported.

Area of Responsibility:

  • Accountable for the design of a full battery electric vehicle electrical and electronic architecture program, formulate evaluation algorithms and evaluation indicators, write technical requirements for vehicle-level electrical systems, and release vehicle architecture plans.
  • Responsible to architect the solution, allocate the requirements and manage internal and external interfaces to achieve the desired result and ensure architecture strategy supports customer s future requirements, thereby minimising impact on the system/sub-system
  • Carry out system interface analysis and work on strategy for integrating hardware components and moving software functionalities
  • Work with the system engineers, sub-system engineers and component engineers to drive a future architecture strategy to optimise cost and weight
  • Create logical architecture diagrams and discuss with various stakeholders for implementation
  • Update network architecture diagrams and participate in software requirement specification meetings
  • Understanding of control technology, and define the functions of the vehicle electrical and electronic system per vehicle and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand the development trends and state-of-the-art of automotive electronics.
  • Participate in technical audits and system compliance meetings
  • Decide and control the aspects of design that determine the system-wide properties
  • Ensure the design integrity of the product, all aspects at all levels

Demonstrate trade-off between performance and whole life cost/capability/risk
