Inviting applications for the role of Datacenter Support Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Data center technicians install and arrange new equipment for data center, mux and hub room. This may include physically upgrading internal system components (CPU, RAM, HBA, memory hard drives, fibre cables, copper, and more). Once they install new equipment, data technicians often collaborate with cross functional teams.

  • Data center technicians provide live support to cross functional teams and coordinate to troubleshoot problems and help issue resolution. They act as a main point person on the ground support to support all hands n feet related activities.

  • Adherence to Data Centre Hygiene as per the DC Maintenance checklist and execution on ground.

  • Maintain Physical CMDB/U level diagram, DC layout for all installed devices inside DC & Hub rooms.

  • Perform and coordinate with cross functional teams for UPS PPM activity as per industry best practices.

  • Activation & de-activation of Data & Voice ports up to 05 Nos.

  • Monitor and closure of all service requests, incidents, task tickets with in define SLA.

  • Joining bridge calls with technical and extend the onsite support towards resolution of incidents including sniffer and Wireshark captures logs on need basis.

  • Change management process to followed for all the infra changes (Break fix/new installation/decommissioning/upgradation).

  • Coordination with vendor for call logging till problem resolution of servers.

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities

  • Establish and enhance strong working relationships with various internal teams and external suppliers

  • Understand overall ticket management process
  • Perform cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard datacenter processes

  • Physically assist in moving and racking equipment

  • Supporting deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure hosted in DC/Hub room/Mux.

  • Supporting parts/component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting

  • As required, assist Datacenter Inventory and Asset Management Team with shipping/receiving and inventory management.

Minimum qualifications
  • Graduate in any stream
  • Must have with ITIL and ITSM processes.
  • Familiarity with Networking
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time and follow through with assignments.

  • Must have at least 2+year experience in supporting in the same stream

Preferred Skills
  • Hardware repair data center technicians are hired to complete basic repair of damaged or faulty devices by coordinating with OEMs (vendor).

  • IT computer networking technicians are in charge of hosted IT infrastructure devices uptime.

  • Troubleshooting skills Performing tests to identify and fix errors in computer networks including LAN and WAN is a key component of their work with coordination of cross functional teams.

  • Physical Requirements data technicians to maintain physical and environmental control and maintain common minimum standard procedure.

  • Inventory management data technicians are required to maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and physical CMDB.

  • Communication skills Being able to explain and understand the problem statement and provide support to resolution. Data center technicians should have strong written and speaking. Flexible to work non-business hours(shifts) that may include weekends and holidays.
