We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join our Team at Bangalore, India to support and evolve the design and implementation of MDS & Feed services at Groupon.

Youll spend time on the following:

• You will take ownership of the technical aspects of implementing our business requirements, ensuring that the platform is being used to its fullest potential through designing and building applications around our customers needs
• Designing modern data solutions including batch, and real-time data pipelines using cutting edge big data technologies. You will review and monitor current engineering work, as well as previously constructed applications, to ensure the software is running as smoothly as possible
• Work directly with our internal product teams to ensure that our technology infrastructure is seamlessly and effectively integrated with our third-party software, conceive and build the necessary applications to make this happen
• Provide support for platform related issues. Triage and fix issues reported by other teams to help with early resolution

Were excited about you if you have:

• 3+ years track record of relevant work experience and computer science or a related technical discipline is required.
• Strong experience in Java J2EE technologies and competent in building enterprise-scale applications. Hands-on coder with a good understanding of enterprise-level code.
• Ability to design and implement APIs using Express & Node.js
• Proficient in SQL DB, NoSQL DB, Redis and exposure in building data pipelines using Hadoop Ecosystem such as HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Spark, Hive, Kafka, Storm etc.
• Knowledge of software best practices, like Test-driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI-CD is good to have.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
