Job Title: Manager/ Sr. Manager

Department: Merchandising


Role Objective: The incumbent will be responsible for handling merchandising department of the organization.


Job Description:

  • To coordinate with buyer, sales team, production team and dispatch team for order execution to order delivery.
  • Offering price to the customer in consultation with the management and product development team.
  • Receive specifications of customer and giving this to product development team for the sampling purpose.
  • Once the sample is approved by the customer, go-ahead for the bulk production.
  • Taking follow-up with the production team for the production status of the order, support if there is delay due to unavailability of resources (Man, machine & Material).
  • Taking feedback from all department heads involved in execution of order to the dispatch.
  • Coordinating with the quality department for regular basis checks and make sure the produced fabric is free from error or defects.
  • Prepare a schedule for the fabric inspection with the buyer or through any agent nominated by the buyer.
  • Once the inspection is done, schedule dispatch with the help of factory dispatch team and documentation team.
  • To make sure the goods is handover to the shipping line on time for the smooth shipment as per instruction by buyer.
  • If in case fail on-time delivery or correct quality than make a decision and discuss with the head of departments or high authority and finalized.
  • Intimating to the buyer once the goods is dispatched from the country of origin.
  • Attend quality issues received from the buyer and forward this to quality team for the corrective action.
  • If in case need than follow up for the payment issues.

a) Functional Skills: Negotiation and bargaining with customers, Resource (Man, Machine, Material & Methods) availability, Quality Control, Production follow-ups, on time delivery.

b) Behavioural Skills: Leadership skills, Effective Communication, Attention to details, Time Management, Problem Solving, Convincing power.


Knowledge:

a) Knowledge of Textiles processes

b) Negotiation and bargaining with buyers

c) Knowledge of payment terms

Qualification and Experience:

MBA (Marketing)/B.Tech in textiles technology with minimum 15 years of relevant work experie
