Responsibilities:-

Receiving a brief or an outline of footage and/or a script to grasp needs and specifications

Assembling all raw footage in case of recorded clips, or creating videos from scratch

Creating/ finalizing graphics and effects, such as transitional elements, text and subtitles, animations, or motion graphics for animated or 2D/3D video requirements

Digitally cutting files to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what's usable

Creating a 'rough cut' (or assembly edit) of the programmed /film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages

Reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video

Gathering images and sound clips to develop a video, adding supers to the video wherever required, and so on

Additional tasks may include:-

Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing

Experimenting with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements

suggesting or selecting music

Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry s best practices to maximize efficiency

Required Skills:-

Proven working experience in video editing and motion graphics.

Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages

Demonstrable video editing and motion graphics ability with a strong portfolio

Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity etc.

Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing

Creative mind and storytelling skills.
