HCI (Cross-Functional) Senior Program Manager

Context

Role will reside in the Product Offering / Design team reporting to a newly formed business-side PMO. Skill sets are needed to accomplish an Innovation initiative supporting the Product Management (Product Offering) and Product Development (Engineering) global teams.

This role (darker blue) will manage business-facing teams and commitments and work with engineering (light blue) development teams phase gate results accountability. This role will work directly with Product Management (peach color) and corporate teams to standard / optimize product release processes.

Assumptions:

This position is on-site in Bangalore.

Will work in both USA and India time for periodic conference calls.

Job Description:

This job position requires an experienced senior-level Business Program Manager to assist with the development and implementation of a Software Solutions Global Program office. This exciting role will create the future of a world-class Agile Solution lifecycle and metrics.

This position requires an experienced program leader that has deep experience across the software engineering life-cycle from project initiation thru project closure. The candidate should also have experience with traditional waterfall life-cycle methodologies as well as Agile, Scrum, and other adaptive project methodologies. The candidate should have a strong understanding of custom software development culture, terminology and tools.

The successful candidate will partner with project/product owners to provide guidance using the agile principles and develop the necessary training on using new product introduction process to support the all the product management and product development tools such as Jira, Confluence, SAP, Tableau, Salesforce and other portfolio tools. This candidate will also work with Stakeholders and Tool admins to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the tool.

This is a challenging but professionally rewarding opportunity for a program leader that has a genuine desire to apply their project management skills by leading the business project team participants as a servant leader. This individual will be able to influence all business partners, the Scrum Team, partner directly with the Product Owner, and assist the Agile Project Manager and Release Train Manager as part of the larger Agile Transformation.

The position will require someone with excellent communication skills and team-oriented leadership by a professional that believes in teaching software development teams to "learn by doing". The selected individual should be well-versed in Lean methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban and willing to mentor others in those methodologies at all levels of the organization.

Required Skills

10 years experience in Project/Program Management, stakeholder management and budget management skills.

8 years experience organizing meetings, maintaining project plans, budgets and status reports; experience tracking and reporting software and innovation metrics. Required - 8 Years

8 years experience working in an Agile development environment (i.e. Scrum, Kanban & SAFe). Additional experience with other structured methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, PMI). - Required - 8 Years

8 years experience working using analytical and creative problem-solving skills; ability to multi-task and handle a large amount of detail.

5 years data analysis for reporting on portfolio metrics, offer opportunities, gross margin & headcount expenses

5 years of project costing to understand labor, capital and other program expenses.

5 years working with Marketing and Sales Enablement on non-technical initiatives

Desired Skills

Demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines

Candidate should have executive presence and advanced business presentation skills to be able to present to VPs, SVPs and above. Act as the primary interface for the business partners and the initiative.

Experience in launching and rolling out enterprise wide programs interfacing my stakeholders across US and International.

Experience in Portfolio management and roadmap planning

Demonstrated experience in Enterprise level application development and Enterprise level Project Management.

Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously without impact to quality of work.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10-15 years experience in IT / software solutions development.

Experience delivering SaaS or IOT solutions utilizing platforms or the Cloud

Ability to create roadmaps and workplans for marketing initiatives

Ability to effectively utilize external vendors and resources throughout the organization.
