Employment Type: Site Reliability Engineering responsibilities include building and running large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Laerdal s Cloud services have reliability, uptime appropriate to customer s needs, and a fast rate of improvement. SRE s are also responsible for being ever- watchful on our systems capacity and performance. SRE also focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation. On the SRE team, you ll have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale which are unique to Laerdal while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design As a Senior SRE, you will provide scalable, reliable, durable and secure global cloud services for our customers and internal users. We build highly reliable cloud applications using a customer-first approach while innovating technically. You will understand our customer s needs and how we can meet them. Establish a SRE site and help build an effective global SRE team Provide technical leadership for the teams and work closely with Application teams and Cloud leadership Provide guidance to other team members on managing the availability and performance of critical services Build automation to prevent problem recurrence Manage execution of project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables Assist in designing major software components, systems and features to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Laerdal s Cloud applications. Education Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study 6-8 years experience in distributed systems, storage systems or databases Experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems Experience in MySQL database Excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership with systematic problem-solving approach MANDATORY - SRE, Java, Python, PHP, AWS or any cloud platform Preferred Skills Experience in architecting, developing and troubleshooting systems. Experience with algorithms and data structures and Linux system internals and administration Experience in programming in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, PHP, Go 4 6 years of experience as a software engineer
