Job Summary
- Must have at least 6 years of hands-on experience in IT architecture design and implementation, with at least close to 5 years experience in automation using Chef for implementation of enterprise management systems.
- Should have performed the role of Lead/Architect for configuration management with Chef to automate provisioning of large IT infrastructure/platforms deployments and automate their lifecycle management in large IT infrastructure projects, and integrations with open-source solutions and VMware
- Proficiency in Chef configuration management and Ruby for Chef code is a must.
- Strong hands-on skills of Ruby Programming and at least one programming languages (Bash, Python, Go, C++, or Java) during the last 5 years.
- Experience in Gitlab/Jenkins or equivalent build orchestration tools; Setup CI/CD integration pipelines from code repository to build various machines for test and production environments.
- Should have experience of integrating open-source management tools and VMware with Chef Infra.
- Strong Work experience with Test Kitchen
- Strong Work experience with Chef InSpec (Mandatory).
- Experience with Chef Component like Automate, Server, Workstation, and Chef-Client Upgrades
- Experience with writing Custom Chef Resources
- Experience developing the Enterprise Level Chef Cookbook development and awareness about the Chef Best Practices.
- Experience with PolicyFiles, Data Bag, Roles and Wrapper Cookbooks
- Strong knowledge of Chef client and bootstrap workflow
- Troubleshooting Chef component like Automate, Infra Server, Workstation, and Client nodes
- Desire and ability to keep up to date on latest automation, testing and monitoring technologies and bring them to true production readiness for delivery stack
