Role Overview: As a Software Developer on the IBM Cloud team, you will be part of a dynamic, fast-moving environment where you ll have the chance to drive projects from start to finish. You ll be responsible for designing and developing innovative services, using both open-source and commercial technologies, and helping improve IBM Cloud services on a global scale. You will have the autonomy to take ownership of tasks of varying complexity, contributing your ideas for new features and improvements, while learning from subject matter experts and collaborating with a skilled team of developers. Responsibilities: Self-starter: Take initiative and demonstrate a positive attitude while driving projects to completion in a fast-paced environment. Design and Development: Design and develop services that have a significant impact on the company and industry, using both open-source and commercial technologies at scale. Task Ownership: Manage and take ownership of tasks of varying sizes and scopes, depending on project requirements. Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts to learn and implement new ideas and solutions. Innovate: Contribute ideas to improve IBM Cloud services, driving innovation across the team. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field. 2+ years of experience in software development, demonstrating strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. Proficient in Java or Server-Side PHP development (3+ years of experience). Experience with SOAP API design, ORM concepts, and software testing. Experience using a version control system (preferably GIT). Familiarity with developing automated tests or utilizing automated test frameworks. Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating across teams. Preferred Experience: Experience with SQL Databases for efficient data management. Familiarity with Caching Libraries like Memcached or Redis to enhance performance. Experience in Ansible Playbook development or Chef Role creation for automation and configuration management.
