Job Summary About the Infrastructure AI Center of Excellence (COE): The Infrastructure AI Center of Excellence (COE) is a dynamic team focused on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the efficiency of IBM Infrastructure employees and improve customer experiences. Together with the AI Guild, we act as a hub for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and skill development related to AI. We aim for two core objectives: VELOCITY and SAFETY accelerating AI project rollouts while ensuring that they are executed within the safe guardrails of AI usage at IBM. Role Overview: Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of AI and cloud solutions? As an AI & Cloud Solutions Architect, you will play a crucial technical leadership role within our team. This position is responsible for designing and architecting innovative, scalable, and secure cloud-based AI services. You will lead architectural oversight, create technical roadmaps, and establish best practices for AI solution development, ensuring both technical excellence and scalability across projects. Your expertise will guide the implementation of complex AI solutions, from system architecture to deployment, shaping the technical direction of our AI efforts. You will collaborate closely with development teams and ensure that all solutions meet IBM s standards for security, performance, and reliability. Responsibilities: Design & Architecture: Lead the design of architectural frameworks for AI and cloud-based solutions. Create scalable, secure, and maintainable AI solutions for various projects. Technical Roadmaps: Develop and maintain technical roadmaps for AI implementations across IBM Infrastructure. Architectural Oversight: Provide oversight and technical direction for complex AI projects, ensuring alignment with architectural standards. Best Practices & Standards: Define technical standards, patterns, and best practices for AI solution development and deployment. Technology Evaluation: Stay ahead of technological trends, recommending new frameworks and technologies for AI-based implementations. Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to ensure compliance with architectural guidelines and to uphold technical excellence. Documentation & Specification: Create comprehensive architecture documentation, including technical specifications and diagrams. Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks related to AI solution architectures. API & Integration: Design and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures for AI model integration. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor s Degree in a relevant technical field. 12-15 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on technical architecture. Expertise in AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, LLMs, and Generative AI. Strong background in cloud architecture patterns and microservices design. Experience with distributed systems architecture and design patterns. Expert knowledge in backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, Java, and database management. Proven experience in designing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures. Deep understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Kafka, Object Storage) and container technologies. Security and compliance expertise in cloud-based AI systems. Experience in designing scalable cloud services and integrating AI models into cloud environments. Preferred Experience: Experience with emerging AI technologies and new architectural patterns. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks. Background in hybrid cloud solutions and experience in multi-cloud environments. Performance optimization and scalability design expertise. Proficient in technical documentation and diagramming. Strong experience with API design and management. Familiarity with event-driven architecture. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.
